The Organization
Christian Academy is the school of First Assembly of God in Honolulu. It is a campus where faith formation and academics are seamlessly integrated rather than kept in separate rooms. Additionally, the school's leadership is deeply committed to fostering and nurturing student leadership and ministry.
The Engagement
Michele has partnered with Christian Academy for many years through a variety of impactful initiatives:
Chapel Speaking & Workshops: She has served as a frequent chapel speaker for students ranging from elementary through secondary grades, and has also conducted dedicated teacher workshops.
Keynote Leadership: Michele was invited to serve as the keynote speaker for the school's Christian Emphasis Week.
Immersive Ministry: For two years, Michele designed and led highly innovative and engaging "Encounter Stations," creating an immersive experience that deeply impacted the students.
Senior Milestone Events: Over the last three years, Michele has collaborated with Nancy Vuu and her foundation to host a special Crowning event for seniors before their May graduation. Recently, in 2026, she also spoke at and participated in the special baccalaureate services for graduating seniors.
The Outcome
Curriculum Piloting: Current Headmaster and Principal Ninia Richardson has partnered with Michele, curriculum designer Phyllis Unebasami, and the Brave Series team to pilot the Brave Together curriculum for grades 6 through 12 this year.
Future Vision: Plans are currently being made to establish the Brave Series as a core component of the school's socio-emotional learning program.
The transformative nature of this relationship was beautifully summarized by former Principal Rebecca Furuhashi, who shared the following endorsement after Michele conducted a full-staff teacher training workshop:
"Her creative and visually-exciting presentations have challenged us and our students to directly download from the Father Heart of God. We are now seeing children as young as five praying bold and encouraging words over other children and even their teachers. Our entire campus culture has changed. Our school will never be the same."
